We women are generally very good at taking care of ourselves. We brush our teeth every day, brush our hair, shower, exercise, maybe even treat ourselves to skincare every now and then.
But how is your lower abdomen? Are you giving it attention and care?
The truth is that in today's society we live from the head up, and we are not very good at taking care of our precious yoni.
Women's health problems such as prolapse, incontinence, pelvic pain, numbness, and severe PMS are a growing problem, which unfortunately many women just learn to live with, or are told that it is completely normal. Common yes, but it is not normal!
Many of these problems can be addressed. But how?
When we lack knowledge, and in addition, talking about an area that is characterized by a lot of shame and taboo, it can become challenging.
Taking care of your vagina affects your whole being! This is our powerhouse, where we give birth to life and new ideas into the world! Our life energy resides in this center, so it is important that we nourish and love our vagina, so that we can live more in harmony, and open up for more pleasure and joy in life.
Here are my best tips for taking care of your vagina:
- Pelvic floor relaxation. Many women struggle with tension, which can cause symptoms such as pain, lower back pain, poor digestion, difficulty emptying the bladder completely, and weak orgasms. If you struggle with tension, I recommend a yoni wand that releases tension and provides more circulation and oxygen to the tissue. See our selection of yoni wands here
- Strengthen and tone your lower abdomen. 50% of women will experience pelvic floor prolapse, and 1 in 3 will experience incontinence. This can be prevented and in some cases reversed! Signs of a weak pelvic floor can include urine leakage, weak orgasms, and little contact and emotion during sex. Train with a yoni egg! The egg acts as a weight resistance so that the muscles have something to grip around. 2-3 times a week for 20 minutes is enough, and you will notice a difference after just a few weeks. See our selection of yoni eggs here
- Do not use soap in the genital area as it dries out and destroys the pH value. Use only natural intimate oils that care for and nourish. See our selection of intimate oils here
- Move around . A lot of sitting creates poor circulation and too much pressure on the pelvis.
- Light therapy with red and blue light stimulates muscles and tissues. Vaginal laser stimulates the body's natural healing processes, increases blood circulation, works against inflammation, reduces dryness and increases collagen production. See it here
- Drink lots of water. The body needs lots of water to cleanse and stay hydrated. When working with the pelvic floor it is important that we help it flush out toxins.
- Nourish the tissue. Eat healthy and get plenty of vitamins and minerals so that the tissue gets the nutrition it needs. As women age, muscles and tissues become weaker, so it is important to nourish the tissues that help hold our pelvic floor up. Many swear by collagen supplements, as they help strengthen the walls and muscles of the vagina.
Remember that we women are holistic, and our entire body is connected. Take care of your vagina, and nourish the whole you.
